When the product was first developed, the pencils were tested by a panel of independent artists, who confirmed the claim of the fully dispersed washouts being permanent when dry. To create this permanent wash with the pencils , all pigment from the colouring or the light swatch of colour used on your mixing palette, must be dispersed, allowing no undispersed pigment to remain. Once this is fully washed out and then dry, the light wash product will be permanent to use water or other colours over the top.
