Great solution for IR control of PS3!

Unlike the Sony PS3 remote, this uses IR, not Bluetooth wireless technology, which allows you to use a universal remote to operate the PS3 console. In my situation, I am only using the USB receiver, as I use a universal remote to control ALL of my components. I am very pleased with how well the product works with the PS3. The only drawback is the fact that you cannot use an IR remote to remotely power on the PS3. However, this is a very minor drawback. Overall, great solution for the price!

Good remote for Harmony

If you use a Harmony remote you have to have this remote. The Harmony will learn the commands quickly and allow you to control the PS3 with IR instead of Blu-tooth.

Very Helpful

I bought this unit so I could use my universal remote with the PS3 which I use mainly as a Blu-ray player and Internet/Home network device. After I programmed the universal remote with the Nyko remote, the universal works great! Now, I'm back to just one remote for the whole system.
