Perhaps the Best Season

Hitch provides some of the best teleplays, with his usual witty introductions and endings [sadly, the "alternative" remarks often exclude his insults to the sponsors which were a delight to original viewers]. Nevertheless, three of the episodes are directed by the Master: "The Perfect Crime", "A Dip in the Pool", and the memorable "Lamb to the Slaughter". Another fan favorite was "The Glass Eye". Many familiar faces from the movies and TV were featured as guest stars in all the episodes--a source of joy for all cinema buffs. Only disappointment: a partial crack in the plastic packaging of the set, but no harm done to any of the DVDs.
