Coffee Maker, Brew Basket & Carafe: (1) Prepare the cleaning solution by adding 1 oz of Bar Keepers Friend Coffee Maker Cleaner to every 8 oz of cold water. Make enough solution to completely fill your carafe or coffee maker: (2) Remove any disposable filter or pod from the coffee maker. (3) Pour the cleaning solution into the coffee maker. (4) Place the empty carafe or cup under the coffee discharge. (5) Initiate the brew cycle. It may take more than one cycle to empty the reservoir. (6) Leave the cleaning solution in the carafe for 30 minutes. (7) Discard the used cleaning fluid, and thoroughly rinse the carafe or cup. (8) Fill the coffee maker's reservoir with clean, cold water, and repeat the brewing cycle to rinse the coffee maker. (9) Dispose of the used rinse-solution.

Do not recommend drinking product. Not sure why some of the review questions were phrased like it was a beverage. Product works great cleaning the coffee kettle with no scrubbing. The stained coffee peeled off after a 30 minute soak with the product.

Sparkling Clean After Using
Wasn't sure how this would work. First time. Previously used the powder. This stuff seemed to work better though and it seemed easier (no dissolving first in lukewarm water as with powder). Directions were easy to follow and understand. After running the diluted solution through, the water in my carafe was tinted brown. Not sure but I'd surmise it came from the filter basket. Can't imagine that much coffee stain on inside of carafe. Nonetheless, after running through once, then rinsing a few times, I am left with a sparkling clean water reservoir AND carafe. I think it did what it's intended and did it well. Review request rating in 4 categories. One was taste. And seeing how this isn't ingested, well, I suppose they're fishing for any aftertaste this may leave following cleaning coffee maker. I can say it left none. Did it improve my coffee flavor? Jury is out on that. Probably because I routinely clean this unit. Not with the frequency recommended, but every 3-4 months.
