Catananche Caerulea (Cupid's Dart White) - Cupid's dart is a short-lived perennial that originates from southwestern Europe. It forms clumps of grassy leaves which are accented by single white flowers with dark centers from midsummer to fall. The papery, white flowers are produced on slender, upright stems. At first glance this easily grown perennial may look like a cornflower, but its straw-like white flowers last far longer and are excellent for cutting and drying. Cupid's dart flower seed is adaptable but best when grown in gritty, well drained soil and full sun. The plant will degrade and expire much more quickly in a heavy or overly wet soil. It is ideal for border plantings, cut flowers and dried flower arrangements.
