Ink runs out considerably more quickly than with a traditional ballpoint pen, and ink stops flowing when there's about 20% of the original amount still in the ink cartridge. Writing with Frixion pens is therefore much more expensive per inch of print than with traditional ballpoint pens. Unlike the first erasable ink pens, Frixion pens erase quite cleanly, without damaging the paper.
