Works, restores silent operation, but a tad slower
Several years ago, my very quiet 20 year old 3 speed Hunter ceiling started making a low humming noise when turned on. Last week, the fan lost 1 speed. In replacing the capacitor, be careful to remove the wires from the 3-way switch by pressing a thin screwdriver in the wire slot, press down, and pull out at the same time. It is rather tricky to do, unless you want to buy a new switch. Anyway, THIS capacitor works well, with one caveat. The fan no longer has humming, but the each speed is slightly slower than the original, but not a problem.
