In addition, it kills both the mound and the queen, and keeps new mounds from forming. Use this pest control product on residential lawns, ornamental plants and flower gardens. To treat mounds, apply 2/3 cup of product over each fire ant mound and the surrounding 3-foot diameter. After application, drench the mounds with 2 gallons of water. Do not water to the point of run-off, and do not make applications in the rain. This knocks out fire ants fast! I bought two bags for several mounds...and it turned out to be overkill. I broadcast this over several active fire ant mounds one evening before sunset. When I followed up the next morning, there was a single live fire ant. All were dead or moved on. Now I have an extra bag on hand when I need it.

I had a huge ant mound, and growing bigger, right on the edge of my garden. UGH! I don't feel cozy with insects. Poured this stuff on the huge ant mountain and presto, ants, and their mountain 🏔️ home were gone. Hopefully, never to return. Synora! Ants speak multiple languages. That is why they are so clever.
