Delicious coffee from a surprising vendor
I am a snob when it comes to coffee, and most store-bought coffee is horrible. I like my coffee very strong, very dark, and very hot. I do not adulterate my coffee with cream and sugar, and I do not consider the doctored dessert coffees to be real coffee. Folgers is one of the worst over-the-counter coffees, even when brewed at double-strength. So I was very pleasantly surprised at the full body, full flavor and excellent aroma of the 1850 coffee. Normally, pre-ground coffee has a stale odor and taste to it, but this coffee smelled very fresh. I brewed it to a full tablespoon of coffee per 2 measure of water, and the result was excellent. This dark roast was not over-roasted, so it did not have the burnt taste of many dark roast coffees. It brewed strong but not overwhelming in standard coffee pot. I am pleased to have found another coffee that I can add to my repetoire.
Delicious...Rich and Bold!
The Folgers 1850 Black Gold Dark Roast Ground Coffee came in a 12-Ounce package. The bag was easy to open and the aroma was wonderful. Immediately I noticed that the coffee grounds were rich and dark. I especially love rich and bold coffee so I was excited to try it. The next day, I made the Folgers Gold Dark Roast for my morning coffee. It is definitely rich, dark, and bold. I love the smell and flavor of this coffee. It has a strong and deep taste which I really like. I really like the chocolate after hints that come at the end. Overall, I would recommend the Folgers 1850 Black Gold Dark Roast to any coffee lover.

I am a a lover of coffee. I drink it black. No sugar or cream. I like the taste of it...the aroma...the caffeine (ahem)... Being a member of the Walmart Sparks Program, I had the opportunity to review "Folgers 1850 Black Gold, Dark Roast Coffee." Without hesitation, as soon as I sipped this brew, I knew I had just sipped one of the richest tasting coffees I had ever sipped. Made from 100% Arabica beans, this coffee has a bold, yet smooth taste. It has a hint of dark chocolate mixed in. If you enjoy a great tasting coffee, this is for you. It actually TASTES like coffee... Folgers is famous for making coffee which it bills as "The Richest Kind." They continue to honor that statement with the "1850" line of brews.
