The Juliet Grape tomato is the perfect balance between a grape and a Roma style tomato. These wonderfully sweet fruits are as soft and juicy as small cherry and grape tomatoes but they hold up to 2 weeks on the vine, resist cracking, and offer nonstop production all season long! Larger than the average grape tomato, the Juliet weighs in at around 1 to 2 ounces and is deep red colored, plump and bursting with sweet juicy goodness. These tomatoes are fantastic in salads, and fresh pasta dishes, both hot and cold, and they hold their shape well in cooking. The vigorous vines grow 6-8 feet tall and produce clusters of a dozen to a dozen-and-a-half fruits all over the plant, all summer long and into the autumn. Place plants in a full sun location 24-36 inches apart. They require a rich normal well-draining soil with 1-2 inches of water weekly, after established. When planting these and all other tomatoes, plant to a soil depth just beneath the first set of leaves. That first set of leaves (called cotyledon-which means the embryonic first leaves) will eventually fall off. Roots will form along the buried stem, establishing a stronger root, thus a stronger plant. Don't water too late in the evening. You want the plants to dry thoroughly before night. Too many problems with fungus start when you continuously water tomatoes late in the evening. Stake or cage these tomatoes as they grow tall and lanky and hold loads of tomatoes. Expect a bountiful harvest starting 60-70 days after transplanting, lasting well into the late summer months
