Sturdy, well-made, and a significant upgrade to c

I'm not the type of guy that drops this much on something like a can-opener, but this thing really is a game-changer. It doesn't cut the can metal, it merely forces apart the lid from the can, essentially reversing the process that happens when the cans are sealed at the factory. I bought one seven years ago after I got tired of the sharp edges and tiny metal slivers left behind by cheapo can openers. That one still works as it should on a daily basis. I recently purchased one for my parents, and they're in love with it as well. Much easier to use, easier on older hands, and leaves nothing sharp or dangerous behind.

Great safety can opener

Great safety can opener. Easy to use, safe. Bought this to make DIY camp stoves out of old cans; wood and alcohol stoves, and can lanterns. This makes a clean cut and helps to maintain strength in the body of the can while allowing for a useable lid. A different safety can opener left small indentations along the rim of the can, which for those nuts who like to make nice DIY things with cans might care about..... Would recommend. Thanks.

difficult to use

We have had this about a year, buying it because I unwisely thought an expensive device would work well and last a long time, as had our previous can opener. Both my husband and I have had great difficulty getting it to work on various cans (thank goodness for ring pulls on many foods!).
