Have your dog touch the bells with his or her nose; reward with a treat. Repeat this process for 1 to 2 minutes each day until the behavior sticks. 4. Next, hold the bells in the air a few inches from your dog’s nose. This will make it easier for him or her to perform this next step. Have your dog touch the bells with his or her nose; reward with a treat. Repeat this process for 1 to 2 minutes each day until the behavior sticks. 5. Repeat the process of holding the bells in the air but this time, hold the bells up near the door knob. Repeat the treat process. 6. Hang the bells on the door.
