Verified Purchase

Well worth the price as it is more than a game it's a learning tool. Child learns face value of coins, and making change while having fun. I serched around before purchasing this game. It was not readily available in local toy stores so I checked on-line and found that Walmart had it.

Great for identifying coins and exchanging

I have three daughters, ages nine, seven, and four years old. I am also home schooling them all which can be tricky to find a way for them all to learn what they need to learn at their own time. My oldest daughter learned about money just by being with us when we were shopping. Both my younger daughters need help in identifying and counting money. We considered other games that include play money, but not many out there include coins and bills. When I saw money bags, I figured it was the perfect game to teach my girls about money again. Not only did it have dollar bills, it had coins as well. Plus, the money looked very realistic! The game board itself was about earning money and the bank. I decided I would get it and give it a try. The board was simple enough. The spaces were about different chores and how much money they earned by doing them. The spinner made the counting more interesting. The bills are so realistic!! The game coins are the same size as real ones, but the color was so much duller and darker. The game pieces are little cardboard pieces with a cartoon kids on them. The cardboard pieces have a stand that needs to be assembled to make them stand up. This makes it easy when more than one player is on the same space. The problem with that was that they were trying too hard to be politically correct. There were two boys, two girls, a red, blond, brunette, and dark skinned. Considering that we are all girls made it an issue. Problem was solved for us by painting over the characters and putting stickers on them instead. I am planning on creating my own by printing their pictures on shrinking paper, but that will be later. The game in general is good. Its fun to play, but can be quite slow with the two little ones. The box came with preset cubbies to hold the bills and coins, but not for each coin. It would have been nice to have a little indention on the box for each coin, like a register. Instead all the coins are just jumbled together making it hard for the little ones to find the coins. Maybe that's part of the lesson, but slows the game down. Also, not enough pennies. Again, probably to learn to exchange. Aside from that, the girls like the game. They have played it daily since we got it.

Teaches the value of a dollar

My Grandkids 3 years old and 10 year old, loved playing this game. I though due to the video's the 10 yr old plays he wouldn't be interested, but he was. The 5 year old was learning all about nickels and dimes, and how to make change to make a dollar bill .. Although, it was a bit confusing on how to actually win the game. The object of the game is at the end of the game who ever had the most money at the end. But then it has a finish line. I guess who ever reaches the finish line ends the game and what who has the most money wins. totaly recomend this game for kids, it's great for teaching you child all about the value of a dollar and that money has to be earned. you trough the die and it will tell you how many steps to take, and fro each step it will have you earn money the board will read 5 cents for pulling out weeds for example then you have to spin a pointer to tell you how you can make your change, " or how you can't make your change using 10 cents or not using 10 cents. It really a good learning experience for kids. I also played too. and though it was cool. I will be playing it again and again
