The Nitto NT555RII is a D.O.T.-compliant competition drag radial tire designed with the versatility to be driven on the street to the track. It is engineered to maximize grip and acceleration at launch with a specialized race compound. The purpose-built, symmetric tread pattern features extremely wide, low-void shoulders and fully continuous twin center ribs to put more rubber in contact with the road for non-stop dry traction. For enhanced launch, the tire is engineered with a modified sidewall construction that provides improved traction off the line. Two circumferential grooves provide reasonable hydroplaning mitigation for a tire of this type.
