What size are these? What is 4/5 Inch?

I thought these were going to be about an inch in diameter, about 8/10 of an inch in diameter. They ALL came in ONE small box, about an inch square and a half inch tall. I thought only one was shipped. Inside this box were 10 absolutely tiny circles, thin, about a half in circle with an absolutely tiny piece of metal with a red tip. In a couple of them the piece of metal will not orient to the north.
