This chuck is a dedicated threaded 1 in. 8TPI RH/LH version, exclusively for use on the NOVA Comet II Mini Lathe (and other lathes with a 1 in. x 8 TPI spindle) This ensures the chuck will stay securely mounted on the lathe, throughout forward and reverse turning applications. The NOVA G3 chuck features a one handed, geared operation, for fast opening and closing, ideal for production turning of smaller pieces. The gears are strong and smooth. The NOVA G3 Chuck comes with advanced features such as automatic jaw safety stop so jaws won't extend past the chuck, copper infused jaw slides which provide lubrication and resistance to wear. The small chuck size and weight minimizes loads on small spindles and bearings.

The big jaw profile provides a vibration free, solid grip for all sizes of pen blanks and an accurate centered hole every time. Being able to finely control the drill feed on the lathe is a big advantage to prevent break out on those delicate pen walls. Also perfect for squaring up the pen blank ends after gluing in the pen kit tubes. The Nova 9049 2MT Pen Mandrel Saver is perfect for saving the center point and the Pen Mandrel shaft from damage caused by overtightening the tailstock center. Suitable for all lathes with 2MT Tailstock Quill the Nova mandrel saver, solves this problem because your mandrel shaft goes through the hollow live center. Your bushings press against the center with zero pressure on the mandrel shaft. The tube and bushing assembly tightens up by turning your tailstock quill adjustment wheel eliminating the problem. The Nova 48264 Chuck Accessory Storage case allows you to protect your Nova Chuck investment with storage of one chuck, and several jaws, wrench, and woodworm screw all in a one heavy duty plastic case. They are great for not only protecting your chuck but for carrying to events or clubs, and cases are stackable allowing efficient use of workshop space.
