Nice But Not As expected

The engine and tender and passenger cars are very nice and run well. The track is not the same as shown in the video attached to the description of this product however. Instead of the Magne-Track shown in the video this set uses the Easy Trac, which contrary to its name is MUCH harder to assemble than the other. Also, in researching this Easy Trac I found there are very few options for additional track other than the sizes included in this set. This makes for a very limited amount of possibilities for expansion.

Locomotive constantly derails

Everything works on the train except that it won't stay on the track. The passenger cars stay on just fine. After hours of trying over a few days, we never got the locomotive to make it once around the track without going off the rails. It was a Holiday disappointment for myself and my 7 year old son. I'm just happy it didn't come from Santa. It's such a big investment that I don't think I will try to buy anymore trains again. Maybe a Lego spaceship will be better.
