I wanted a little table to seat the two of us. Not too small like a bistro table, because we wanted to be able to eat and maybe play games at it...but also not too big, because of our space. I found this for a fantastic price, and took a chance. So happy with it! The top is not real marble, it's like a laminate type. It's fine, but we are careful not to abuse it. We use placemats and coasters, and I wouldn't put anything scratchy on the surface just in case. It's sturdy and heavy. I was worried for the price that I'd get some rickety thing, but it's great! I also like that the veining is on the lighter side, not too busy. Overall really happy with this, and would recommend it!
