I bought this product because I was trying to dye faded outside patio umbrella. the directions told me to use two tablespoons of dye per cup of boiling hot water in a spray bottle. I did that. I opened the umbrella and sprayed the whole umbrella left it to dry. when it dried I closed the umbrella completely. Yesterday it rained out side in Massachusetts and I noticed on my patio table where the umbrella was inserted that the dye was dripping from the umbrella on to the table. so needless to say I removed the umbrella and purchased a new one. I also purchased a can of sun protector for patio umbrellas and sprayed the new one. hopefully that will prevent fading.
