No stretch to the neck line

I really was so excited to finally put this in my daughter and I immediately took the tags off. After I put the pants on,I tried to put the sweater and I couldn't! The neck has no stretch to it whatsoever.My poor daughter cried and screamed as I tried to pull her head through.I bought a 2T and is only a year and half.
