Excellent Desk

Beautiful desk for my home office. The wood is excellent quality and the desk not only serves its functional need but it serves ascetically as well. Assembly takes a while but it is well worth it in the end! I recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade their home office. I am writing this review as a part of a contest.

Nice computer / office desk

Perfect solution that allows plenty of workspace but has a small footprint. I can have my tablet/laptop , my printer, office supplies, books etc on this. This is the color i like most. Overall,i'm satisfied with the product. I am writing this review as part of a contest.

I HATE THIS DESK!!!

I HATE THIS DESK!!! I've been assembling furniture like this for 40 years and never have I had problems like I did with this ... thing. It has what feels like 5 million pieces, some of which are just a little off from being the right size to fit together tightly, and at least half of which weren't labeled. It took an hour just to get it out of the box, make sure it was all there, find a place for it all in my small room while leaving enough space to put it together. I've lost count of how many hours I've spent on this thing over the last three days, and I'm still not finished. The pilot holes were to small to be of use, making it almost impossible to screw them together. I thought I was just not strong enough, but my mechanic son-in-law helped for awhile and said it wasn't just me. He couldn't tighten them, either until he brought some of his specialized tools over. I was exhausted when I put two pieces in, so I didn't realize they weren't placed correctly until right near the end. There is no way to get to the screws to fix it, and it would appear that some of the hardware isn't meant to be removed at all. Ever. I hope I didn't just throw nearly $600 away on a desk that looks like crap. The finish is incredibly fragile, too. I'm not sure how, but one of the pieces got scratched, taking off all of the dark finish along the scratch line. Not something I would have expected for something this expensive. This scratch is on the inside where it won't be seen, but the fact it is so easily damaged is cause for great concern. One thing is certain -- I will never buy another piece of furniture that requires assembly again. It's just not worth the hassle especially when what I end up with looks so cheap, is too heavy to move on my own, doesn't have levelers (which the uneven floors in my older home make necessary), can't be taken apart easily when moving (which I'm planning to do in the next year or two), and so many other minuses. I know some people love this desk and say it's easy to put together, and that's wonderful. I, however, am not one of them.
