About this item
Product details
The purpose of an anode rod is to help protect the metal water heater tank and elements exposed to the water in the tank, from corrosion, thus extending the life of the tank and its metal parts that are exposed to the water in the tank. Its aluminum construction, with trace amounts of zinc, also helps combat the sulfur smell that is sometimes present in the water from the tank. It is 42" long and can be cut to desired length. This version, with the dielectric nipple attached, allows the anode rod to be placed in the hot water outlet when extra protection is desired or if the tank does not come with an anode rod.
