It's Directional

I am sure this product works just fine, remember that the cord is HDMI to VGA and will not work if reversed.

DIdn't work for me

Tried to attach new Smart TV to my older laptop. No Joy. HDMI connected as did the male end for the VGA. But I could not get my laptop to display on the TV-even with tech support from my TV manufacturer. That being said, the cable seemed to be of good quality. But I'll have to return it.
