First off I'd like to thank you for making it this far. You are 1 of 15 lucky people to actually view this page. You should be applauded for your support of indie artists and your desire to explore strange new musical worlds, to seek out new music and new civilizations and to boldly go where so few fans have gone before. This stuff is rare, truly underground. This music is so underground my mom doesn't even know about it. If you pride yourself on discovering the next great nobody, I am it. Toledo born and kept, I've grown a strange appreciation for our little town. I am fortunate to get to play with the many many great musicians here. Strangely, there are great musicians but not great fans. The people just aren't raised that way. I don't mean it as a knock, they just have other interests. Some of the most apathetic crowds I've ever seen reside in Toledo, even for national touring bands. The attentiveness, appreciation and other show courtesies that exist in Nashville or Austin, simply don't exist here. The Hype for the next great band doesn't exist, although the bands do. The papers try, but Toledoans are unimpressed by fame and stardom. Maybe it's why Lebron left. Many Toledoans love music, but have taken it for granted over the years. I'm O.k. with this, I'm still here, but if you travel a little, you start speaking my language. This isn't a music town, it's a family town, it's a musicians town. Many of these musical ghosts graced this album and other than other Toledo musicians, no one knows or really cares who they are. We musicians have kind of grown to appreciate that. It's a pressure less situation. There's a certain comfort, a confident humility that develops from the apathy. My engineer on this record has spent 30 selfless years making great records and not a soul in Toledo, other than a musician, could drop his name. These musicians are my favorite people, and between you and me, amongst the most under appreciated talented people this side of the maumee river..... and if you know some of these people, or people like them, then you might wanna give this record a spin. There is some serious playing on here. Some memorable moments for sure. Whether it's worth your six dollars, I don't know, I'd like to hope so........ People keep moving, the world keeps spinning and work, family and TV will continue to rule the day. While us Ttown rockers will be doing what we love, for the purity of loving it, and that sounds about perfect to me.
