I use this camera at the front of my car, and it works well. Although it's designed to be a backup camera for reverse driving, I installed it in the front. Because of that, the image is flipped — the left side appears on the right and vice versa. It's a little confusing at first, but I can still clearly see what's in front of me, such as a barrier or a raised walkway, and check whether I'm about to hit it. This is very helpful since my sedan offers limited visibility near the front bumper. The only challenge was running the cable through the firewall from the front to the cabin, which was a bit tricky, but I managed to do it. Once installed, the camera has been very helpful and reliable. Overall, it's a great product, and I'm happy with it.

This was a gift for our daughter. We installed it using the top two screws on the license plate and took a screw cap off one of the bottom screws that was not being used for the license plate, drilling it out to fit the wire through and sewing it with caulking to ensure no water leaks. We loosened the inside panel of the hatchback on her Ford Edge to be sure we didn't drill through any wires and that the hole was a clean pass through the hatchback. We then snapped it all back into place. It comes with a hardwire option or maybe that is to wire it to the reverse lights, but either way we didn't get that involved as we didn't want to risk ruining the car's wiring. Basically the way it is set up is you click the red button on the cigarette lighter power source and the camera comes on, complete your reverse and then click the red button again to turn off the camera. You could leave the camera going but it is a bit distracting seeing how close people come to you in traffic. It should really be used for backup and parking only. Overall happy with it.
