Designer Jon Morris established Olivia Riegel in 2000 as a tribute to his beloved grandmother, Olivia, a consummate collector of chic costume jewelry. Jon's vision was to offer customers elegant bejeweled objects that incorporate vintage details with a modern sensibility. This vision continues as Jon's designs are translated into a Rich collection of handcrafted home décor, giftware, bridal goods, and women's accessories. The goal is to offer brilliantly executed creations that are beautiful, sophisticated, and relevant. - The Design Process
Many years ago, while attending an international antique fair to seek out inspiration for products, Jon became captivated by an early 19th-century European picture frame adorned with jewels. He was instantly inspired to create bejeweled accessories for the home—adorned with crystals and semi-precious stones as opposed to jewels, opening up the category to a larger audience. He begins each piece by sketching it in detail. Master craftsmen transform the design into a handmade mold. They pour molten metal into the mold, apply the desired finish, add hand-enameling where designed, and then set each European crystal and stone by hand. This attention to detail ensures consistent quality.
