Clyde : The Cat That Came In From The Cold (Hardcover)
Key item features
Clyde’s legacy is his tale of dreams; if you want them more than anything in the world, they can become reality. His true story is of life’s ups and downs, a friendship full of love, and the life-changing act of rescuing a pet. It's a story of how a skinny, dirty street cat touched the lives of the people he picked to be his family. Daphne, a high school art teacher, already had three cats and a busy life. How did this scrawny cat get her to love him?
Clyde lived on the street in Sacramento 25 years ago, until he gazed in the living room window of author Daphne Stammer’s house and thought it looked cozy and comfortable. During their years together, Daphne made several watercolor paintings of her new best friend and way back then, turned them into a one-of-a-kind handmade book to inspire her high school art students who were fearful of life after graduation.
Artist Daphne Stammer, inspired by the little cat outside her window, began making beautiful watercolor depictions of Clyde. He chased other dogs and cats away from Daphne's house. He sat on the fence and watched her three cats enjoying themselves in her kitchen. In the evenings, Daphne could usually find him, gazing in her big front window or sleeping close by in the cold outdoors. His persistence touched her heart and the rest is history. He inspired Daphne and her students, and now his story is shared by families everywhere.

Product details
Clyde is the true story of author/illustrator Daphne Stammer's adopted cat. Through beautiful narrated illustrations it tells the sweet story of their happy life together. Twenty-five years ago Daphne took in a homeless cat that became her perfect pet. She painted him and those paintings became a one-of-a-kind handmade book. Z Girls Press, with the magic of digital technology, captured the magic of the one-of-a-kind handmade book and now it is a children's hardcover book for parents to share the love of animals with their children.
This true story is a testament to the healing power of love. Not only did Daphne's love provide a warm, comfortable home, food, and good health to Clyde, but he filled Daphne's life with joy as you can see in the book. She beautifully captured his playful cat ways, from begging for food, to chasing his tail, to taking up residence in an empty box.
This sweet book will delight children and adults alike.
