Collar and grab strap are a must for small ones

These fit the children well and have plenty of adjustment. The lack of floatation in back combined with the collar flip the child onto their back; in addition to being safer it helps teach them to get comfortable on their back. The bottom strap is rather stiff and I will make a soft cover before our next lake trip for all life jackets.
