PERFECT LITTLE BED

Felt heavy right out of the box. Unwrapped and moved close to a plug to be able to air it up. I did unfold it and once it was unfolded at the end of the mattress is a switch for airing up the mattress. All I did was push it up for airing and then left to do some chores. But it was within eye sight. I went and felt firmness and pushed the switch to off, which is in the middle position. The switch has 3 functions. All the way up is airing the mattress, in the middle is the off position and down for removing the air from the mattress. Easy peasy. Now the headboard is GREAT. Keeps your pillow from sliding off the bed. You do not have to have it right next to a wall either. This bed can be in the middle of the room and the headboard stays FIRM. I got in a position on the mattress to read my book leaning against the headboard, I took a nap without intentionally meaning to, fell asleep while reading. Now one thing everyone needs to know is that the mattress is not losing air when you have to give it more air the next day or two. The mattress itself is stretching out. The manual tells you when you first inflate your bed the material will STRETCH which is sometimes misinterpreted for leaking. You will sense a loss of pressure, that's just the bed stretching. Simply re-inflate the bed again. Do so as needed until the bed fully settles, USUALLY 2-3 NIGHTS. Features of the airbed include: internal 120 volt electric pump easily inflates and deflates, Fiber-Tech interior construction provides enhanced comfort, stability and support. Soft Flocked sleeping surface and sides. Carry and storage bag. I had the bed up for maybe a few hours when neighbor needed me to babysit, so I let the air out of the bed and put it in its bag until the house was safe again. The next afternoon, I took it out of the bag and inflated again and let it stay up for a couple of days before storing it. This will be perfect when guests arrive. They will have their own little bed to sleep in. Love it. It even helped my back when lying on it watching TV.

Comfortable airbed

The Intex Twin Durabeam Headboard Air bed is a very nice looking bed. It stands 18 inches from the floor, which can accommodate the older folks as well as younger people. The height makes it much easier to get up from. The automatic pump fills the bed quickly and fully. It took me two tries to get it deflated. The automatic pump deflated the bed quickly but needed a little help from me to get the headboard deflated. After totally deflated, the bed folded easily and I was able to place it into its carrying case. It folds small enough to be easily stored in the closet. I would recommend this air bed to anyone needing to stow grandchildren in bed, or any other reason!!

If You Need a Spare Bed, This is the One!

I have had other airbeds in the past and was never really too impressed. So, wasn't really expecting much from this one either. I was wrong. Apparently, the technology has gotten a lot better. The box it comes in is fairly compact, about 18 inches tall and maybe 10 inches wide. It weighs about 20lbs. Out of the box there are directions for care and use and it also comes with a carrying bag that I was pretty skeptical about, but more on that later. Very easy set up. Roll the bed out and then plug the power cord into a wall outlet. The control panel has three settings, off, on, and deflate. I turned it on and the motor sounds quite powerful but not overly loud. The bed was fully inflated in less than 5 minutes. It turned out much bigger than I imagined. Yes, this is a twin size so it is essentially the exact same size as a traditional twin bed. But, with the inflatable headboard it really takes up more room. After inflation I checked it out and it is very sturdy. Of course you can adjust the firmness by how much air you put in. After it is filled to where you want it it is important to slide the switch to off and also unplug it. Apparently, if the switch is not in the off position air can bleed out. Read the instructions. There are many helpful hints to make sure it completely stretches out after the first use and the air may need adjusted higher for the first several days until it is fully expanded. This has a pillow top surface and the material is really plush and quite comfortable. I could easily see this as a lounger in the rec room to watch TV. Back to that carry bag that came with it. After many years of tents, sleeping bags and other folding items that are supposed to end up neatly in some company-supplied storage or carry bag I had serious doubts. Those bags always seem about an inch too small. Well, I plugged the unit back in and moved the slide to deflate. It took several minutes but it did seem the bed completely deflated. In accord with the instructions, I started at the headboard end and rolled this up to the bottom, folded over and it actually fit in the carry bag. Beyond that, the whole thing actually went back in the box just like it came! This item is a winner all the way around.
