The directions say that it takes about an hour to put together, but I guess that depends on your tools and the person putting it together. I used a Phillips screwdriver, but using a power screwdriver or drill is faster. In total time, it took me about 9 hours to finish it. Please consider that I did this completely by myself, and I'm very detail oriented when there are multiple pieces %26 multiple types of screws and connector pieces. To say the least, I examined every piece to make sure it was on the right side and that every hole was lined up perfectly before connecting. Someone with more building or construction knowledge would probably be able to put it together in a flash. Don't let my work time dismay you from purchasing this cabinet. It's a beautiful piece that came out just like the picture. I'm a purple fanatic, but I absolutely love the blue color; so I had to buy it. I truly thought that it would be taller than it actually is, but I didn't check the measurements prior purchase. Still I wouldn't have been put off by the height, because it will fit just about anywhere in my place. This piece is solid wood, so the stability of it is top notch (even with me putting it together). I've been telling everyone that I was so proud of myself for completing it; I gave myself a happy Woohoo and an applause!!!
