My plumber added all new connectors, a shut off where it was supposed to be, a pan under unit as well as a device to detect any water leakage to place near unit. Installed this to replace a 13 year old GE heater which started showing signs of leaking internally and intermittently tripping the circuit breaker. Installation was straight forward simplified by using shark bite fittings. There was a significant dent at the bottom and in retrospect I should have paid more attention to some minor damage to the bottom of the carton it came in. Manufacturer might consider better packaging. In the end I decided the damage would not affect functionality and for the sake of expediency decided to ignore it. It's been functioning just fine for about a month now.
