Easy to use, great performance

We recently just got this printer less than a month ago. I love the space saving aspects of the printer. The printer is user friendly and provides high quality prints

This isn't my ipf8300

I purchased my 4000s from my local paper distributor. They are a good group of people and were willing to take my (still in date) extra set of ink cartridges in on trade for a new set for my new machine. Good for them and me too! We print a lot of artist prints and all of those customers were happy with the quality improvement between my 5 year old 8300 and the new 4000s. It prints amazing color and is very consistent too! Only complaint that I have is the "cheapness" of the top cover. The 8300 was rigid. Could be opened with one hand while another hand had a roll of paper in it... This 4000 lid is flimsy. Takes two hands to open and two hands to close it. I have had this 4000s for 12 months. It runs about 250 feet of 46# CadJet a month and the quality is as good today as it was the day we self-installed it.

Good printer as long as you are not on macOS

The Pro-4000S not near ready for release to the macOS works. While it prints good and has potential it falls short on MacOS when compared to our previous Canon large format. different if you are using MacOS. Here is what is NOT working on the Pro-4000s. Cannot print directly out of Adobe. Has to be exported as JPG or TIFF, then opened in another program Software does not automatically detect sizes. We now have to set the size each time we print. Software does not automatically detect paper type. We now have to set this as well each time we print. Printing is a lot slower to be received to the printer. We have seen everything from immediate printing up and over 90 minutes before a job is printed. Previously, it would always start printing immediately Printer does not show how much time there is left to print. Therefore, you don't know if you have 5 minutes or 30 minutes until it's done. Cannot print banners longer than 125” out of Adobe.. Must use a different process now to print Must close print studio pro before opening any Adobe files (photoshop, indesign, etc…) Printer is not printing full bleed when using a MacOS computer Overall I would say great execution on the product, but poor execution on the software if you are using a MacOS computer.
