This is an exquisite and elegant little ring that would be perfect for engagements, weddings, anniversaries, holiday gifts, or just because! Things I LOVE: • Beautiful, nontraditional center stone--it's a lovely Welo opal (a precious opal with a rainbow play of color); this particular stone is milky translucent, and the colors typically range from red to green • Gorgeous, unexpected cut--the opal is pear-cut, shaped like a teardrop, and is faceted to maximize the color play • Pretty 3-prong setting of opal, within a larger bezel cup bordered with tiny moissanites for more sparkle • Dainty, delicate slender band, with tiny moissanites along the top of it Just a few notes of caution: • Opals aren't as hard as other stones--they are in fact considered "soft" (about only as hard as glass). They can get scratched or scuffed fairly easily--don't wear this while doing work with your hands around rough materials or in any setting where it's more likely to get scratched. • Opals are also semi-vulnerable to water--they typically have a lot of water in their composition and water can penetrate the stone and cause it to appear cloudy. Some minimal exposure (like accidentally wearing this ring in the shower) is okay, but don't wear while swimming, and do not ever put this in an ultrasonic water jewelry cleaner. • Too much dryness isn't good for opals either--don't ever store in a zero-humidity bank vault, for example. But regular everyday air, even in drier climates like Arizona, should still be okay. • To clean, use a little water and mild detergent, and a soft cloth or very soft-bristled toothbrush to get in all the crevices around the stones is helpful. This ring is almost ethereal. My whole hand feels prettier when I wear this! I can't stop looking at the brilliance and color of all the stones together--I love how it shines! I need to remember to be more careful with this ring, but I'm still super happy with this!

The ring looked nothing like the color in the picture. When I received it, the jewel was yellow, with absolutely no blue anywhere in the gem. It did not even look like an opal. It also feels like a ring you won out of a quarter machine.
