Ownership Form and Economic Performance in the Insurance Industry (Paperback)

The type of ownership in any organization is important because it sets the foundation for the nature of governance that it implements. The nature of governance is a key determinant of the success or failure of an organization. The purpose of this thesis is to study closely the outcome of shareholder form of ownership and customer form of ownership within the insurance industry. The aim is to investigate how these two forms of ownership continue to coexist despite their fundamental difference in residual ownership type by comparing their performance.
