Melissa & Doug Wooden 8-Piece Safari Friends Chunk

I L-O-V-E this puzzle and I love that my little one loves it. The wooden puzzle pieces are solid and durable and double as individual play toys. This set includes a crocodile, elephant, giraffe, hippo, lion, ostrich, rhino and a zebra. They also look great on display on their own in a nursery or play room. These multifunction pieces make great decor. I love the learning aspect of the puzzle. From having your child be able to identify the animal as you say the name, grouping the animals into similar/different, line the animals up for a fine motor development activity or just use as intended as a shape sorter puzzle. Most of our longest lasting toys are the Melissa & Doug ones. You can't go wrong with the Melissa & Doug brand of toys.

Fantastic Toddler Puzzle

We have long been fans of Melissa & Doug toys. They're known for being beautiful, low-tech, and educational. This puzzle is all three, and it does not disappoint. It's designation as "chunky" is absolutely right. I have nine children and thought I'd seen pretty much every kind of puzzle; I have never encountered such toddler-friendly pieces: more like wooden blocks than puzzle pieces. It comes nicely packaged (see photo). The back also has lots of educational insights/suggestions. I highly recommend this great toy!

Great for little hands

Perfectly designed puzzle for little hands. The pieces are nice and chunky, so it's easy to hold and maneuver. The wood is SOLID and sturdy. High quality! The pieces go into the puzzle easily. It is not a tight fit and does not need to be pushed down. The pieces have some weight which help them to be easier told hold and maneuver. Really nice high quality puzzle. It will last for years.
