this is a great toy for a toddler upto 3 years. It is useful for for them to learn hand brain coordination. My nephew always wants to play with this. I have seen many puzzle sets. But melissa and doug are pioneer in kids toys. They made a puzzle set too special. Giving sounds for each vehicle is the best feature here. This way toddler can also lear to put puzzle pieces in their right place and also learn and distinguish. sounds. That is like 2 in 1. Now my nephew whenever hears a truck sound on the street, without even seeing at it, he is shouting "truck" . I am really impressed with this puzzle. The Melissa & Doug Wooden 7-Piece On the Move Vehicles Sound Puzzle is a very thick but still lightweight puzzle. The puzzle pieces are made so that they fit into the puzzle easily for small hands. They have a small red stick to pull them up that is large enough for toddler hands. The pieces are a decent size and the colors are very bold and bright. When the pieces are in the right place the puzzle makes the sound of the vehicle that is properly placed. The puzzle has an on/off switch on the bottom for the sounds and the battery can easily be replaced with a small screwdriver. It is for ages 2 and up and I think that is a good age to start even though it may be hard at first.
