They are soft. They fit well (right now in the second trimester) however they run small. I normally wear an L in maternity pants but decided to get an XL just to ensure that as I got more pregnant they would continue to fit. However, at an XL they are quite tight so I don't see these fitting when I am nearing full term. I can also imagine that they will shrink in the wash making them even tighter.
