It feels and looks 'expensive' and you can appreciate the quality of the build as soon as you handle it. It's attractive to look at and fits in well in any room in the house. Set up. 4/5 The first thing to note about the Bose 300 is how easy the it is to set up with with both Google and Alexa. It's effectively two systems in one as well as standard Bluetooth connectivity. I already own both a Google Home and an Amazon Echo, but even if you've never used either of these, the set-up is relatively straightforward. However, initially the connection dropped out on the first couple of tries, although after this, it has remained stable. Sound. 5/5 Absolutely superb! I've tested this for over a week and have played classical music, rock, pop and a variety of audio books. The sound is absolutely fantastic. There is PLENTY of bass and this is more than good enough to replace a modern stereo system. It's fantastic for playing Spotify, Amazon Music and internet radio. You can also connect any Bluetooth device directly to the speaker. Quite brilliant!!! Usability. 5/5 Set up is a doddle through the Bose music app. I downloaded the Android version through my OnePlus 5 phone. You can choose to use Google or Alexa, and to be honest they are both equally as good. It's simple to use and easy to navigate the app menus. Very straightforward. Both Google and Alexa have their flaws (particularly with my accent!), but this is no reflection on the Bose Home Speaker 300. I have similar problems with my Google Home and Alexa speakers... Verdict: I would highly recommend this product to all music lovers. The sound quality is fantastic. It's a bit more expensive than similar speakers on the market, but you're effectively getting a choice of operating systems and aren't fixed to either Google or Amazon. Everything about this Bose home speaker screams top notch quality. The packaging is simple yet very elegant. When you open the box and pull out the speaker it is immediately apparent that Bose strives to impress. There isn't a lot of instructions in paper form included. You have to download an app to your phone. At first this gave me some problems. I didn't get the right app. You have to make sure you get the “Bose Music” app. There are some other Bose apps that come up when you search. Once I got the correct app it was just a matter of following the pop up menus. When I got everything done and started playing some music I was very impressed. I couldn't believe how much sound was coming from this speaker. It even made my teenage son leave his video game and come see where the awesome music was coming from. The speaker has six soft touch buttons on the top surface that you can preset different music sources with. It also has volume controls and voice assistance controls. You can connect with WiFi , blue tooth or an audio jack. It has google assistant and Alexa built into it. The voice assistance is able to hear your commands very well even when the volume is high. The speaker is also able to connect to various smart home accessories. Of course this requires additional equipment such as smart switches and outlets. The design of this speaker goes well with any decor and doesn't take up much space. But with the deep bass and clear sound you would think it was much larger. The sound seems to fill the room completely.
