The box was big and heavy, but when the press itself was finally dug out, it is surprisingly compact. I got it for unmounted lino relief printing. It is well built. It does require mounting of some kind. I used a faux marble kitchen cutting board of a very dense plastic. I found four small metal L-brackets at a local hardware store that just need a bit of work with a rotary tool to chase one hole down a bit and then used 1/4 inch hardware. This reinforced the press and gave about a 2x3 foot base with large rubber stick on feet. Leaving the handle just hanging where it will clear the edge of the base. Clamped to a table edge this works great. Using wing nuts on the added L-brackets makes it easy to unmount from the base for storage. Small enough for any home studio and easy to pack away when not in use. Unless you are willing to dedicate an area to a really big press permanently, this may be the largest kind of roller press that easily appears and disappears back into a rather small box (the handle removes easily), as needed. This is not a large professional floor press of course, and the top and bottom rollers are not geared together, but it does have individual pressure adjustments on each end of the top roller. It does need some kind of mounting or added base, but has four large inch long by about 5/16th inch slots right where it needs them for such mountings.

A bit fussy at first but once you get it figured out it works fine. Worth the $$
