Directions for Use: Per serving of problem food, swallow 1 Tablet with first bite of warm or cool food. Store at room temperature or cooler.

Bean-zyme works by breaking down long chain indigestible sugars found in many vegetables and grains.
Our instructions say to take 1 tablet per serving of problem food. See the sample list of common problem foods on our website (http://www.bean-zyme.com/Bean-zyme%20same%20as%20Beano%20info.htm#Directions). If there is more than one serving of a problem food in a meal you should take more than 1 tablet. You can look up the definition (size) of “a serving” on FDA food charts. Typically a ½ cup of baked beans is a serving. If you are using Bean-zyme to relieve gas from foods that DO NOT contain long chain sugars such as meats, dairy products, fruits or artificial sweeteners then it will have no effect.
At the beginning of the meal start with maximum # of tablets you think you should take based on the above information then via trial and error reduce the # of tablets until you get the maximum benefit from the minimum # of tablets. Make sure you take Bean-zyme at the very beginning of the meal.
The active ingredient, alpha galactosidase enzyme, is a protein as all enzymes are. If you eat more than you need it is simply digested like any other protein. So there really is no limit to the number of tablets you can take.

BeanZyme is the same active ingredient as Beano, which is alpha- galactosidase 800 mg/ tab. I generally use 2 tabs at the start of any meal containing high amounts of fiber. It's a tasteless enzyme that helps our GI system breakdown those cell walls and thus prevents bloating and excess gas production. It seems to work as well as the above mentioned name brand for half the price.
