Avia Men's Quickstep Strap Wide Width Walking Shoes (4E Available)

I purchased these shoes for my 95 yr old father. He needs support, something easy to put on and secure on his feet. He seemed to like these shoes very well. He's had them for a little while now and he's still think that they were a great shoe choice. He has a wider foot and their standard wide fit him very well. Yes, I would recommend these shoes.

This is my third pair. My original pair for yard work lasted for years. Currently I have one pair for yard work and my second pair for platform peddles on my road bicycle. (I could have gotten by with just the one pair for both uses, but they are so cheap the pristine bike pair stays in my car with the bicycle.) I have the wide version of 13 size which are loose, but I prefer them that way for my purposes - I don't use them for athletics, except for the biking as I need the looser fit. The Velcro closures are super functional and comfortable. I have inserts in my other sports shoes, but the inserts in these shoes hold up well and they are surprisingly cushy without being mushy - really surprising at this price point. The overall stiffness of the leather body is similar to a work shoe, but still very comfortable - no rubbing. Finally the sole is stiff, sturdy, but again comfortable. The soles on my original pair did fail after many years of yardwork, but that was to be expected for this type of shoe not having a Vibram type sole. Another bonus is that the tread does not pick up mud like a typical hiking boot or running shoe. In summary its a great outdoor shoe, comfortable and cheap - at least it was before tariffs.
