Not just a novelty, good sound and multi-sync too!

Really shocked at the sound quality for the price, and the simulated torch is an added bonus! If you're methodical, they sync up flawlessly: connect primary to Bluetooth, switch to multi sync, turn on each secondary and switch to multi-sync. As long as they maintain power they can then all be controlled from the primary speaker (standby/wake, even light modes). I had some trouble when some of the batteries ran out. When turning them back on I had another speaker become primary with a different Bluetooth connection. Having two primary speakers was a bit confusing, especially when there was no audio being played on the second connection. The speaker would say connected, but no sound, even though the one a few feet away was working fine. It took a lot of turning off/on and reconnecting to sort out. My advice: make sure the primary is on and connected in multi sync before turning any others on. One star off because two of the eight I bought only have about a half hour battery life. The rest will play for hours.
