This mixer is much lighter than I anticipated but works like the old-fashioned 2-beater mixers. The bowl spins so I can scrape down the sides without stopping the mixing process. The only down-side I have found is that the dough hooks and bowl can only accomodate 1 loaf of bread.

My wife loves this mixer! I bought her a more expensive model which she had me return for this one. It detaches and becomes a hand mixer in addition to being a stand mixer. It works by rotating the bowl instead of having a sophisticated mixing movement. It does what it is supposed to, looks great, and was a fraction of the cost of higher end mixers. We are not an industry and do light baking, so it is a perfect product for us. My wife loves it!
