Product details
This Marion oboe tube cane was imported directly from France. It is hand sorted for quality by an oboist before being bundled into quarter pounds. The diameter is 10-10.5mm.Marion tube cane is grown in the Grimaud region of France. It is known to generally be fairly straight, quite dense, and have thick walls. As you'll see from the photo, the walls are indeed pretty thick in this batch. This is always a great characteristic to look for when choosing cane. This cane is medium hard in general, but you will of course find some softer and harder pieces in the batch as well. The tubes are a beautiful deep golden color with some purple marbling. The exterior of the tube is very smooth (ridges often indicate softness). Finished reeds tend to have a warm, rich, and focused sound.Sold by the quarter pound with free shipping!
