Vasque Men's Sundowner GTX Boot

The sundowner is a great boot. Extreme comfort and stability. I have used for hiking and backpacking. Just one problem I notice. Premature breakdown of sole particularly at heal section. I'm hearing China production? Say no more! This is an old story and many have had to learn lessons. Their production is inferior and unless US company puts components under mass spectrometer analysis inspector likely won't catch defects in material.... i.e. inferior rubber or urethane! Not company's fault but must move their great design to more quality production in other country.

I owned many pair of Sundowners in the early to mid 90's and loved them and still have a pair. I gave up buying them after they moved production to China due to quality issues but these new models from Vietnam are just like the old Italian made ones and I might even go buy another pair next month...
