Design printing not clear and bright like photo

I needed a plus size shirt for our school's 'Star Wars' day on May 4th and needed it fast. This one seem to check off all my 'need' boxes. Arrived quick enough but the shirt did have a strange strong smell out of the outside packaging and the printing on the shirt was not strong and bright like in the photo but kind of faded/lined and 'old'/worn looking. For $20 I had expected a great shirt. Am keeping it as I need to wear something and do not have enough time to order from somewhere else and get it in time. I am washing it now in hopes that clears up the smell issue and then will get out my paints in the hopes I can salvage the lettering and make it more readable.

My son was born on May 4th so I'm glad that I found this t-shirt I'm saving for his birthday but I have to say I'm not to happy that the image is fade and it would be good if the had it in other colors
