As a speech-language pathologist I come across countless students who can answer a comprehension question but have no idea how to explain the reasoning behind their answer. This book addresses that by not only asking inferential questions, but also by asking students," How do you know that?" after they answer a comprehension question. They must go back to the text and support their answer with reasoning, whether it's a cause and effect relationship, a prediction etc. Love it!

This is a very helpful resource and my students are enjoying the stories.
