PetSafe Drinkwell 2 Gallon Fountain - Automatic Water Bowl for Large Dogs

Bought this after my older Big Dog Fountain was getting a little long in the tooth. Still worked but probably needed a new motor which I don't think was available. Wasn't sure I was going to like this one as well. I liked the big water fountain bottle that my old one had which kept some of the water covered, which is missing in this one. However, I've changed my tune. Like this one very much. Like the design which is elegant and looks nice in the house. Like the hair filter which the other one didn't have, used to have to take hair off the propeller. And I like the open "pool" design without the water bottle which makes it so easy to refill. I take my pitcher of purified water and just refill it from there instead of having to go to the sink with the bottle, filling it and then sometimes having to go back and get some more water. Yes I know it has a carbon filter but my animals get the same water I get. It's in the house so I don't think covering the water is very important. What I think will also happen is that hard water won't have as much chance to accumulate on the inside of the bowl as the water is depleted. With the old one, I got a little lazy about refilling it until it had to be refilled and by then the water had receded quite a bit and over time, hard water stains developed. Now, I see it's a little low and it's easy to refill, bam, it's done. And I'm conscious about not wanting to develop hard water stains on it because they will ruin the good looks of this unit. There you go, all you'd want to know and probably more than you need.

I absolutely love it. Water has been so clean. I have 2 goldens and usually have to clean their bowl a few times a day (leaves, pine needles, fur, etc.) we all love this.
