The cook top is stainless steel and easy to clean and easy to remove pans. I must shut off the electric in the kitchen area to prevent a shock when I change or remove the pans. The top lifts up to see underneath the cook top area for easy cleaning. Great!!

Good value for the cost
2 things that could use improvement: 1. the front right element (large) is so close to the knob that large pans contact the knob when centered on the element. Drives use of left rear element for larger pans forcing the cook to lift a heavy pan of hot food with arms extended and maybe over a hot right front (small) burner. Spacing the knobs closer together would eliminate this issue. 2. The printing on the knob collars is so fine that it is difficult to see even with young 20/20 eyes. Increase the thickness (bold) of the print would be a definite improvement. Other than that, LOVE IT!
