38 Years By The Pool (Paperback)

I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home. My father, R. H. Van Nortwick, pastored a Baptist church, and my mother taught kindergarten in a local school. I have two brothers. I came to know Jesus Christ as my savior at a very early age and always wanted to be in ministry somewhere. I graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO back in 1967, married and had three children. As a young mother I began to yearn for something more in my relationship with the Lord, and He guided me in that search. I can remember thinking "everyone should know what I am learning." Being a Christian is not knowing about Him but knowing Him. It isn't about religion but relationship. For thirty years I wrote things down and then one day God burdened me to compile that information into this book. My example of tenacity would be the man who resided by the Pool of Bethesda for 38 years. It has taken me that long to make observations of the Christian life and record the things I have learned. This is not a theology book although it contains theology. It is a book of encouragement from one who has been down the road to those who are following behind. It is a hand back to say, "I have found Him faithful. You will find Him faithful too." These are the insights that helped me and were light to my path. I have tried to pull together many truths into a readable format without being overwhelming. It is my desire to inspire and to instruct those just beginning their journey of faith and to reinforce and encourage those who are years down the road. May His words be light to your path.
